Anthony M. Coveney
Head of Investment Banking
Anthony M. Coveney ist Head of Investment Banking, seit 2006 Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung und wurde 2006 in den Verwaltungsrat gewählt. In seiner Rolle als Chief Financial Officer bis Februar 2010, war er entscheidend verantwortlich für den Aufbau der unternehmensübergreifenden Finanzabteilung. Bevor er zu ThomasLloyd kam, war Anthony M. Coveney in Senior Management Positionen bei der Citibank und der Bank of America in London tätig. Davor arbeitete er als Head of Treasury and Investments bei der Riyad Bank in Saudi-Arabien. Während seiner 25-jährigen Laufbahn im Investmentbanking saß Anthony M. Coveney in leitenden Positionen bei Lazard Brothers und N.M.Rothschild. Zwischen 1992 und 1997 war er Sonderberater des britischen Premierministers. Anthony M. Coveney machte seinen Abschluss an der University of London in Neuzeitlicher Geschichte, Wirtschaftsgeschichte und Politik. Er ist Mitglied des Securities Institute.

Michael G. Airey
Managing Director, Origination and Transaction Distribution
Michael Airey is Managing Director of Investment Banking Asia Pacific. Prior to joining ThomasLloyd, he set up his own financial consultancy, raising capital and sponsorship for startup companies in technology and infrastructure. Mr. Airey joined the brokerage firm, M. W. Marshall and Co. in 1978 assuming a broad variety of responsibilities. During his 22 years with Marshalls, Mr. Airey held a range of senior positions in London, before becoming the CEO of Asia Pacific in 1991, and appointed as a main board director of the Marshalls holding company in 1995. Since 1991 he has lived and worked in Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. In a career spanning 30 years, Mr. Airey has built a significant portfolio of clients and connections primarily in the Asia region. He is currently an adviser to the Asian Senior Golf tour. He holds a degree from the University of Bradford, UK and spent 2 years in South Africa after his graduation.

Matthias F. Altieri
Managing Director,
Head of Solar Energy
Matthias F. Altieri leitet als Managing Director, Head of Solar Energy das weltweite Solargeschäft im Renewable Sector der ThomasLloyd Gruppe. Zuvor war Matthias Altieri lange Jahre bei Q-Cells, einem der weltweit führenden Photovoltaik Konzerne als Vice President Origination und CEO Italien tätig. Hierbei hat er zur weltweiten Expansion im Solargeschäft wesentlich beigetragen. In seiner über 15 Jährigen Berufserfahrung arbeitete Matthias Altieri in verschiedenen Vorstands-und Senior Managementfunktionen von Global Playern zuletzt der Anglo American Gruppe, sowie Tennant Co. Dabei sammelte er profunde Erfahrungen im Bereich Business Development, Vertrieb & Marketing und insbesondere im Projektgeschäft. Auch ist Herr Altieri Mitglied in verschiedenen Solarverbänden sowie Board Member im italienischen Assosolare. Matthias Altieri studierte Wirtschaftswissenschaft in Bochum und Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik in Rom.
Anna Briggs
Director Investment Banking,
Origination and Transaction Distribution
Anna Briggs has spent her career in the energy sector and in the renewable sector for the past 10 years. She has acted as developer, with Bronzeoak Philippines and Bronzeoak Limited, as financier, with Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, and in management roles with Mycologix Ltd, The Carbon Trust and with Enron. She started her career with Ernst & Young. Her experience spans power and gas trading and deal origination, gas fired power plant construction and operations, first generation ethanol plant design, construction and operations, second generation biofuel corporate development, M&A on the buy and sell side, corporate and project finance. Anna graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Management Science from Warwick University and completed a corporate finance programme at London Business School.

Colin Brunker
Head of Risk Management
Colin is responsible for risk management, including due diligence on cleantech projects. Due diligence includes a critical examination of all aspects of an investment opportunity including the engineering, commercial and financial. He reports a regular summary of findings together with investment recommendations to the investment committee. He is also responsible for the ongoing monitoring of investments once made, and the retrospective audit of investments on completion. Colin is a dual UK / Australian citizen and holds a BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering (London), a Master of Business Administration (Australia), and Master of Accounting (Australia). He is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Certified Practicing Accountants (Australia), and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has had 20 years’ experience in most aspects of risk management in the energy sector and the downstream oil industry, beginning in general EPC contracting with Bechtel and culminating in leading Risk Management, Internal Audit, Quality Management and Environment, Health & Safety for Caltex, Australia’s largest oil company.

Catherine A. Connolly
Director Investment Banking,
Origination and Transaction Distribution
Prior to joining Thomas Lloyd, Ms. Connolly was responsible for originating, structuring, financing and/or managing large scale projects (>$50 million equity) at Borealis Infrastructure, the infrastructure arm of the OMERS Pension Plan. Cathy graduated from the University of Alberta with a PhD in Geochemistry, following which she joined Canadian Pacific Railway. At CP, Cathy moved from the technical to the financial side, working as a Director in both Capital Markets and Treasury. Cathy has an MBA from Queens University, and is a member of the Premier’s Advisory Committee of Alberta, advising on local government policy.

Arnold Owen
Managing Director, Origination and Transaction Distribution
Arnold Owen is Managing Director of Investment Banking Americas. Prior to joining ThomasLloyd, Mr. Owen served as Managing Director and Head of Private Placements at Merriman Curhan Ford & Company, a San Francisco based Investment bank. During Mr. Owen’s tenure at Merriman placements grew from $1 Million U.S. to almost $1.4 Billion U.S. in under four years. Previously, he helped launch the Private Placement practice at Cruttenden/Roth (presently Roth Capital). Prior to Roth Capital, Mr. Owen was a Managing Director and the largest shareholder at SoundView Financial Group. While at SoundView, Mr. Owen ran the team that grew SoundView into one of the premier Information Technology Investment boutiques of the 1990s. Mr. Owen began his career at Salomon Brothers, in New York City, spending over 11 years at the company serving as Vice President of Equities. Mr. Owen has a BA in Psychology from the City University of New York. He received an honorable discharge from the United States military (1966-1968).

Philipp Rusch
Director Investment Banking,
Structuring & Execution of transactions
Prior to joining ThomasLloyd, Mr. Rusch was an Associate at UniCredit’s Markets and Investment Banking division in Munich, Germany. He worked in the M&A of UniCredit Group and completed numerous transactions in various industries ranging from Special Chemicals to Automotive and Machinery. He also worked on several internal assignments related to the merger of UniCredit’s Hedge Fund operations with Ramius Capital and the sale of the company’s exchange traded funds (ETF) business to Barclays Global Investors. Previously, Mr. Rusch worked at Arthur Andersen and the United Nations. He started his banking career at Credit Suisse’s world headquarters in Switzerland. He holds a Masters from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland with major in Finance and Capital Markets.

Charles Stone
Director Investment Banking,
Structuring & Execution of transactions
Charles undertakes specific financial analyses of all project developments in the UK and overseas, including instigating and developing financial models of new business opportunities, with responsibility to analyse and make recommendations. He is also responsible for the ongoing evaluation and running of project specific financial models, preparation of business plans, writing financial position papers and reports, together with the evaluation of taxation issues arising from all projects in both the UK and overseas. He holds a BA (First Class Hons) in Financial Services and Economics (Kingston University, UK).Previously Charles had 16 years’ experience in the commercial banking industry, and was involved in all aspects of Corporate, Trade and Project related Finance both in the UK and overseas. He was also involved in early PFI transactions, and all aspects financing of power stations, oil refineries, schools, hospitals and nursing homes. Previously Charles worked for BHF Bank AG, Yasuda Trust and Banking, and Nederlandsche Middenstands Bank NV.
